More than 800 young participants enjoyed one of Villarreal CF’s camps during July
Villarreal CF took its training methodology to ten venues across Spain: Vila-real, Benicàssim, Jávea (Alicante), Zalla (Bizkaia), Cadreita (Navarra), Agaete (Gran Canaria), La Garrotxa (Girona), Gardeny (Lleida), Santanyí (Mallorca) and Sant Antoni de Portmany (Ibiza). At each location, hundreds of boys and girls from Spain and many other countries enjoyed a unique experience under the Yellow Submarine banner.
More than 800 young players took part in one of the Villarreal CF Camps throughout July, a record figure that highlights the continued growth and success of the club’s development programme.
Villarreal PRO Camp, the most exclusive experience
Once again, the Villarreal PRO Camp proved to be the standout attraction of the club’s summer programme. It is the only camp format in which participants live alongside coaches from the Villarreal CF Youth Academy for an entire week, enjoying a complete immersion in the methodology, discipline and values that define Villarreal CF.
One of the major new features this year was that participants stayed at the Villarreal CF Residence, giving them the opportunity to experience day-to-day life in first-class facilities while sharing training sessions, activities and social experiences in a professional environment. It was a unique opportunity to feel like a genuine Yellow Submarine player for a week.
Learning and enjoyment through the Yellow Submarine methodology
Every year, the Villarreal CF Camps extend beyond the province of Castellón to bring the club’s training methodology to young footballers across Spain and even from other continents. Their main objective is to develop players, identify talent and promote the values that define the Villarreal CF youth academy both on and off the pitch.
The national camps are organised in partnership with local clubs, which become official Villarreal CF venues. This collaboration includes continuous support as well as specialist coach education through both in-person and online sessions delivered by club professionals.
This partnership model continues to expand Villarreal CF’s philosophy and working methods beyond the province of Castellón while creating a multicultural environment thanks to the participation of youngsters from a wide range of nationalities. It also gives boys and girls from across Spain the chance to enjoy a high-level football experience linked to one of the leading clubs in Spanish football, without having to travel far from home.
