The club has set up a stand in the FanZone for fans to play EA Sports FC 24.
Villarreal CF has added new features to the Fan Zone at the Estadio de la Cerámica. In the run-up to the match against Athletic Club, the club will launch the PlayZone, a gaming space where Villarreal CF fans will be able to challenge Joel Leiva and Marcos Sánchez, professional eSports players who will represent the club in the official LALIGA tournament during the 2023/24 season.
The day will start at 4:30pm in the Fan Zone of the Estadio de la Cerámica and will end at 6pm, half an hour before the Villarreal-Athletic match kicks off.
There will be no specific age range for this original initiative that offers Yellows fans the chance to enjoy an afternoon of EA FC 24 alongside professional players from whom they can receive valuable advice on how to improve their performance in the video game.
The matches will be 2v2 matches with a four-minute halves. In the event of a draw at half-time, the winner will be decided by golden goal.
This initial match day will be a first contact point for future events and tournaments prepared by the club in which Villarreal CF fans will be able to compete against each other to find out who is the best EA FC 24 player and win great prizes.
Joel Leiva and Marcos Sánchez, the Yellows’ EA FC 24 representatives
Joel Leiva (@Jowimagic) will be at the controls and Marcos Sánchez (@Canegol7) will be calling the shots for Villarreal during their participation in the official LALIGA tournament for EA FC 24. At just 19 years of age, the gamer from la Vall d’Uixó already knows what it’s like to compete, alongside his head coach (25 years old), in this prestigious tournament promoted by LALIGA EA Sports.
Last season, the duo finished sixth in the regular phase and in the final phase they finished in the top 13-16 representing the colours of FC Cartagena. Also, Marcos Sánchez won one of the awards for best coach of the week in eLALIGA Santander.
Now, after a successful experience in Murcia, Joel Leiva and Marcos Sánchez are fulfilling their dream of defending the colours of the team they love. The two youngsters, both from La Vall d'Uixó, are regulars at the Estadio de la Cerámica and the gamer even played for the Villarreal academy at youth level.
