Bogotá and Cúcuta: football, cultural and sporting exchange.

The Camps and Tournaments Department, together with Villarreal CF’s International Department, have visited Colombia, where two important activities took place to continue promoting youth football and strengthening the club’s international ties.

The first stop was in Bogotá, at the prestigious October Cup, one of the most important tournaments in the capital. At this event, Villarreal CF were able to witness first-hand the high level of talent present in the competition. Majestic Intercambio, the official partner of the Campus and Tournaments Department, has maintained a close relationship with the Yellows since 2022, regularly taking part in the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter, where they bring together nearly 300 boys and girls every year in a unique football experience in Spain.

The expedition then travelled to Cúcuta, a vibrant city that hosted an exciting campus with more than 150 participants. On this occasion, the event was welcomed by the governor of Norte de Santander, William Villamizar Laguado, who opened the doors of the Cúcuta embassy and shared a moving meeting with all the boys and girls taking part. His words of welcome and gratitude gave a special touch to the experience, which was marked by warmth and institutional recognition.

The young players enjoyed training sessions and sporting activities under Villarreal CF’s methodology, accompanied by coaches from Majestic Intercambio. All participants proudly wore the yellow shirt in a true cultural and sporting exchange that became an unforgettable experience.

With this type of initiative, Villarreal CF continues to consolidate its international project, offering young footballers from all over the world the chance to grow, learn and live football with the passion and style of the Yellow Submarine.
