CD Benicàssim returns to the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter.

Club Deportivo Aurrera de Vitoria, founded in 1935 in the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz, is an institution with deep roots in Basque football. Its name —Aurrerá— means “forward” in Basque, perfectly reflecting the philosophy of a club that has endured changes, wars, and various stages of local sport for over eight decades.

In the 1990s, Aurrera experienced its golden era, climbing from regional divisions to the Segunda División B in a relatively short period and cementing its place in the collective memory of its supporters. Throughout its history, the club has alternated between national and regional competitions, with the Olaranbe Stadium —which can host around 4,000 spectators— serving as its home for decades.

Beyond the sporting results, CD Aurrera has built a strong relationship with player development and the Vitoria community. Recent examples, such as organizing professional training camps for children aged 7 to 14 under the guidance of certified coaches, demonstrate the club’s commitment to grassroots development.

Its fifth participation in the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter is not just a sign of continuity: it confirms a connection between youth development projects across different regions of Spain. For Aurrera, the tournament is an opportunity to measure its players’ competitiveness against clubs from other regions and to create new experiences that complement its long-standing history.
