The Swiss sides competed against the U12 and U14 teams of Villarreal Club de Fútbol in two high-level matches at the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza
The facilities of the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza hosted an enriching international experience this week with the visit of two Swiss national team squads, who travelled to Villarreal to test their development and competitiveness against the Yellow Submarine’s academy teams.
Over two consecutive days, the Swiss sides faced youth teams from Villarreal Club de Fútbol. On Wednesday 25, the first match took place against Villarreal’s U12 side. A day later, on Thursday 26, the Swiss team played against the U14 squad, completing a demanding double-header defined by intensity, quality and strong competitive spirit.
Both matches delivered an excellent level of football and highlighted the outstanding work being carried out at youth level in both countries. The results went in favour of Villarreal’s academy, once again underlining the high standards and talent within the club’s youth system. However, beyond the scorelines, the fixtures also showcased the impressive progress of Swiss youth football and the significant efforts being made in the country to provide young players with the best possible environment to reach the professional game.
