The Penya Barcelonista Anguera will participate in the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter.
Confirmed! The passion, identity and talent of the PB Anguera joins the roster of the Easter tournament organized by Villarreal Club de Fútbol to be held from 17 to 20 April at the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza.
The Peña Barcelonista, founded in 1957 in honor of 'Papi' Anguera, who was in charge of the FC Barcelona first team equipment for more than 30 years, is an entity that was born thanks to a group of young people from the Raval neighborhood who had the vocation to promote sport among the children of the area and train them through an exciting medium such as soccer.
The name of the club is nothing more than a tribute to a 'different' figure, who normally disappears, who is far from tributes and recognitions, but who has a great importance, because 'Papi' Anguera was like a father for a great number of Blaugrana players, among them Cruyff or Maradona -who gave a talk at the club-, and also for the young people of Raval, whom he helped by bringing them material from Can Barça so that they could play soccer and set up their own team.
Since its foundation, the club has been a family. Coaches with more than 20 seasons in charge of a group, 650 players, 43 teams and a passion for teaching that has no limits. PB Anguera is training and talent and, over time, has become a benchmark for its care for base soccer.
Perseverance and dedication are the origin, now it is the turn of the young players of the Penya Barcelonista Anguera to show what they are made of against the best teams on the planet and enjoy the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter, one of the best international youth soccer tournaments.
Let's go!
