The New Zealand club take on their first appearance in Vila-real.

The Football Otago Youth Development Academy Trust, from New Zealand, will make their debut at the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter with a sporting project inspired by the symbolism of the royal albatross: a seabird that embarks on long oceanic journeys for years before returning to land. The image represents the journey of their players, prepared to forge their own path in football beyond their home environment.

The organisation aims to introduce young footballers to the wider football world through experiences that go beyond local competition, following a methodology that combines cultural identity, continuous learning and exposure to international competition.

Their participation in Vila-real marks a significant step in that philosophy, facing academies and clubs from different countries in a competitive environment that supports both the sporting and personal development of their teams.

From 2nd to 5th April 2026, FOYDAT will live their first experience at the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter.
