The Villarreal Yellow Cup will once again become the epicenter of elite youth football this Easter, from April 2 to 5. Among the participating teams will be the Toni Kroos Academy, a project that has quickly made its mark in youth development and now heads into the tournament with the ambition to compete at the highest level and leave its identity on the pitch.
The academy was born from the personal commitment of Toni Kroos to the development of young talent. During the pandemic, he launched “Toni’s HomeChallenge,” an initiative that allowed thousands of children to train from home following his methodology. What began as a digital project reaching millions soon evolved into in-person training events in Germany and, after years of growth and consolidation, culminated in the official opening of the academy in Madrid in September 2024. Since then, the project has continued to expand while remaining true to its essence: high-quality training, closeness, and a genuine passion for the game.
But the Toni Kroos Academy is about far more than technique and tactics. Its philosophy is built on a clear principle: developing complete footballers and, above all, strong individuals. Guided by the vision of the World Cup winner, daily work is grounded in discipline, respect, responsibility, and a winning mentality. Within a professional, performance-driven environment, top-level coaches pass on the experience and knowledge accumulated by one of the most influential midfielders of his generation, creating a space where growth as a player goes hand in hand with growth as a person.
At this edition of the Villarreal Yellow Cup, the academy will be represented by its U12 (Alevín) team, which competes in División de Honor Alevín and currently sits second in the league standings, surpassed only by Real Madrid CF. A statistic that reflects the group’s high competitive level and the tremendous work done throughout the season. The young players approach the tournament with excitement and ambition, determined to fight for the title and bring the trophy home.
Toni Kroos’ influence can be felt in every detail. The boys grow under the standards of a legacy built on six UEFA Champions League titles, learning that success is never accidental but the result of consistency, intelligence, and composure in decisive moments. In Villarreal, they will not only chase results—they will aim to showcase a way of understanding the game. Because at the Toni Kroos Academy, the message is clear: MUCH MORE THAN FOOTBALL.
