The Atlético de Madrid Academy returns to Vila-real with the ambition of competing for the title once again

Club Atlético de Madrid is one of the first teams confirmed for the upcoming edition of the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter, which will take place from March 25 to 28, 2027.

The Madrid side returns to the tournament following a strong performance at the 2026 Easter edition, once again showcasing the competitive level of its youth teams. The experience will continue with a new appearance in Vila-real, where the rojiblancos will look to take another step forward and bring the Submarino trophy home for the third time.

The Atlético de Madrid Academy works every day to become one of the world's leading comprehensive football and player development centres. Its model focuses on developing homegrown players, who grow according to the club's values and share their environment with footballers established at the highest international level.

The journey of Gabi, Fernando Torres, Koke and Saúl is a clear example of what this development project can offer. All four players came through the Academy before becoming key figures and legends of the first team, while many other players developed within its youth ranks have also gone on to represent their national teams.

Now, Atlético de Madrid's young players will have another opportunity to put that work into practice on the pitch in a high-level competitive environment.

With the addition of the Madrid side, the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter 2027 continues to add new protagonists for another edition of the renowned Easter tournament.
