The tournament brings the curtain down on another unforgettable edition with the closing ceremony
The Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer has brought the curtain down on another memorable edition. The prestigious grassroots football tournament organised by Villarreal CF has once again established itself as one of the highlights of the summer, offering three intense days of competition across the tournament's nine venues and leaving unforgettable memories both on and off the pitch.
The 2026 edition brought together 204 teams from 12 autonomous communities and six countries, welcoming more than 4,000 players, along with thousands of family members, coaches and companions, all of whom enjoyed a unique experience defined by togetherness, camaraderie and a passion for football.
The morning session featured the exciting finals in all categories, crowning the new Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer champions. Afterwards, from 1pm onwards, Pitch 6 at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground hosted the closing ceremony, where trophies were presented to the champions, runners-up, Silver champions, top scorers and MVPs in each category.
The ceremony was attended by Marcos Senna, ambassador of Villarreal CF and the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer, who presented the awards and congratulated all participants for their effort, sportsmanship and commitment to the values of grassroots football.
