MINTLAW ACADEMY

Tuesday, 11 March 2025 09:00

The Scottish school finishes its stay at the Villarreal CF Training Camp.

The Mintlaw Academy is a secondary school located in the centre of Buchan, Scotland, which is built beside Loch Carlingwark. The academy has over 800 pupils who, through quality and lively learning, grow and develop with both educational and social aspirations whilst retaining four core values: respect, aspiration, inclusion and success.

The expedition, which includes three boys’ teams aged 14-18 and one girls’ team aged 13-15, arrived at the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza yesterday for the exciting and instructive Training Camp organised by Villarreal Club de Fútbol.

The members of the Mintlaw Academy landed in Vila-real with excitement running high, as they have had the opportunity to live a unique experience. On their arrival, they visited the house of the Yellow Submarine and had a training session in one of the best sports facilities in Spain. Today, under the 'Cantera Grogueta' methodology, they will carry out two more training sessions and will receive an official personalised diploma accrediting their presence at the event.

For the full experience, the group will have the opportunity to visit the Estadio de la Cerámica and enjoy the innovative Villarreal Immersion Museum & Tour, where they will soak up the 100 years of history that make Villarreal CF one of the world's leading clubs.

It is a source of pride to see how hundreds of children use football as an educational, social and cultural tool that helps to expand frontiers and strengthen ties.

'Every pupil leaves Mintlaw Academy as a better version of themselves'
