CARNOUSTIE PANMURE

Monday, 09 June 2025 12:00

The Scottish youth football school finishes its Training Camp.

Carnoustie Panmure is a youth football club based in the Scottish town of Carnoustie, which gives its name to the club and is located in the council of Angus, in the east of Scotland. The sports school was founded in 1979 with only two teams, one U-12 and one U-13, but, over time, the 'Gowfers' -as their players are known due to the town's links with golf ('gowf' in Scottish)- have positioned themselves as a football reference in the Eastern Region. Currently, the red and white academy has players from the pre-benjamin to amateur categories, who use the sport as a vehicle for training and growing on a human and footballing level.

The Scottish expedition, made up of 17 youth players and 8 adults, arrived in Vila-real last Saturday, a day on which they got to know the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza in depth and began their Training Camp with a first training session under the methodology of Villarreal Club de Fútbol.

The following day the players continued with their training programme in which, with the help of the Cantera Grogueta staff, they worked on technical-tactical and motor skills, perfecting their reading of the game and their positioning on the pitch. At the end, each player received an official personalised diploma as a souvenir and accreditation for participating in the event, but the experience did not end there, as the Carnoustie Panmure students had the opportunity to take a tour of the Estadio de la Cerámica and get to know, first hand, the guts of the home of the Yellow Submarine, which has more than 100 years of history.

The 'Gowfers' say goodbye to Vila-real with a backpack full of learning, new perspectives and values that will undoubtedly accompany them on and off the pitch.
