Villarreal CF’s academy in Mexico heads to the Yellow Cup Summer.

Confirmed! Villarreal CD México Academy will travel to the Old Continent to take part in the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer. The event, taking place from June 26 to 29, is the end-of-season youth tournament organized by the Yellow Submarine.

Villarreal CD México Academy was founded in 2020 as the club’s first official academy in Mexican territory. With an area of nearly 2 million km², Mexico is the 13th largest country in the world and the third largest in Latin America. It also ranks as the 10th most populated nation, with over 132 million people.

This geographic expanse and demographic richness led Villarreal CF to establish its presence in Ciudad de Mexico, from which five academy locations were opened across the heart of the country.

The academy adopted Villarreal CF’s methodology through direct training of its staff by the Cantera Grogueta and has since become one of the top youth football academies in Mexico. In a fun and educational environment, young players grow and are taught values such as responsibility, respect, commitment, loyalty, and teamwork.

Villarreal CD México Academy gives selected players the opportunity to travel to Vila-real and train at Villarreal CF’s facilities. Now, the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer opens that experience to the entire Mexican delegation, ready to showcase the talent of the Cantera Grogueta to the world.
