The OM23 Academy joins the Yellow Cup Summer.
Confirmed! Academy OM23 to take part in the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer. OM23, a youth football project founded in Valencia in 2023 by former footballer Omar Monterde, is set to make its debut at one of the most prestigious youth tournaments in the Region of Valencia: the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer, which will take place from Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th June 2025.
The academy was created with the aim of developing young talent both on and off the pitch and has quickly become a reference point in the region. Known for its professional approach and strong sporting values, it has earned widespread recognition. Monterde, who leads the project, enjoyed a long career as a player, having come through the youth ranks at Levante UD and gone on to play for clubs including CD Alcoyano, Valencia CF, UD Melilla, CD Acero, Linares Deportivo, Zamora CF, FE Grama, AE Prat and CF Gandia.
Now, he is channelling his wealth of experience into this ambitious academy, which will face its first major competitive challenge at the Yellow Cup. The tournament brings together elite youth teams and academies from across Spain and around the world at the Villarreal CF training facilities.
Taking part in the event marks an important step for Academy OM23. It provides a valuable opportunity for their players to test themselves against some of the top youth teams on the current scene and gives the academy visibility and prestige at one of the standout dates in the youth football calendar.
The Valencian academy is full of excitement as it prepares to make its mark at the tournament and continue building a promising future for its young footballers.
