Deportivo Alavés, seventh team confirmed for the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter.
'El Glorioso' youth team arrives to leave the colors of the team at the top.
Deportivo Alavés joins in the celebration of base soccer that will take place from April 17 to 20, 2025 at the Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter. The ‘Babazorro’ team, born more than 100 years ago in Vitoria, has settled in recent seasons in the golden category of Spanish soccer. The Basque club is one of the twenty-eight in national soccer that can boast of having played in a European competition, being runner-up in the UEFA Cup in 2001 after losing, no less, against Liverpool FC in extra time (5-4).
‘El Glorioso', as the Vitoria club has been known since the 1920s, was the first team in history to be promoted to the Spanish First Division. Since its beginnings, they have made a strong commitment to its youth academy, training players at the Ciudad Deportiva José Luis Compañón who will represent the courage and nobility of the team.
The entity's project believes in the quarry and local players as a solid base on which to build. The club, which is part of the Baskonia-Alavés group, defends within its philosophy the training, education and promotion of young talent. Deportivo Alavés is a regular participant in international base soccer competitions and has collaboration agreements with entities in other countries to attract and train promising young players.
The Villarreal Yellow Cup Easter is another opportunity to continue to wear the blue scarf.
We are waiting for you in Vila-real, ‘babazorros’!
