SOCA ARRIVES FROM THE UNITED STATES TO EXPERIENCE THE VILLARREAL YELLOW CUP SUMMER

Tuesday, 05 May 2026 10:00

The American club SOCA will take part in the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer, bringing its development model to an international stage.

From the state of Virginia in the United States, SOCA (Soccer Organization of Charlottesville Area) arrives at the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer representing the growth of youth soccer in North America. Founded in 1982 with the goal of promoting the sport in the Charlottesville and Albemarle communities, the club has grown into a leading soccer organization in the region.

What began as a recreational youth program in an area with limited soccer tradition has steadily expanded over the years. Today, SOCA offers programs for all ages and skill levels, serving more than 6,000 players each season. Its expansion also includes a merger with Augusta FC in 2015, extending its reach to new areas and strengthening its structure through affiliated clubs.

Participation in the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer, held from June 25 to 28 across various Villarreal CF venues, represents a unique opportunity to bring this model into an international competitive environment. In a summer marked by global football competitions, the American side will live its own competitive experience in the tournament.
