The Gran Canaria club will take part in the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer, consolidating a development model that combines sporting growth, inclusion, and continuous progress.
From Telde, on the island of Gran Canaria, Club de Fútbol La Garita continues to take firm steps forward in its evolution within grassroots football. Founded in 2012 with the aim of promoting both the sporting and personal education of boys and girls in its community, the club has built a solid project in just over a decade, maintaining the enjoyment of sport throughout the season as its main pillar.
Its beginnings were modest, with only five teams competing, reflecting a structure that was just starting to make its way into the local football scene. However, CF La Garita’s growth has been constant, and today it has become one of the island’s most prominent clubs, especially due to its commitment to women’s football. In fact, the club currently holds the highest number of female federation licenses in Gran Canaria, reinforcing its commitment to equality and the development of sport across all groups.
The club’s identity has also been shaped over time. Its yellow and blue colors are part of its essence, even recalling its early days when, due to limited resources, the team had to compete using adapted shirts from other clubs. Experiences like these reflect the spirit of perseverance that has accompanied the club since its origins.
Its participation in the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer, which will take place from June 25 to 28 at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground, represents another important step forward for CF La Garita. In an international environment, the Gran Canaria side will have the opportunity to continue growing, share experiences with teams from different countries, and strengthen a project that continues to progress from the grassroots level, with education and values as its main foundations.
