The Vicente del Bosque Football Academy will take part in the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer with a training model based on the career and philosophy of the former Spanish national team coach.
The Vicente del Bosque Football Academy arrives at the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer as one of the most highly regarded youth development projects on the international stage. Founded in 2011, the academy has developed a model based on the philosophy, methodology, and style of play that defined Vicente del Bosque’s career, leading Spain to victory in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2012 UEFA European Championship.
Since its beginnings, the project has experienced steady growth both nationally and internationally. After launching summer camps in several Spanish cities, the academy took a major step forward by creating a high-performance program based in Mallorca, further strengthening its training structure. Today, it has organized more than 250 sporting events across 20 cities in Spain and 14 countries, reaching over 20,000 young footballers from 28 countries, while also training hundreds of coaches.
The project’s leadership, headed by Vicente del Bosque alongside technical director Pau Albertí, defines the working principles of an academy that combines technical development with values-based education. Through collaborations with international partners, the organization continues to expand its methodology across clubs, academies, and training programs in a variety of contexts.
Its participation in the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer, which will take place from June 25 to 28 at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground, represents an opportunity to bring this model into an international competitive environment. In this setting, the academy will aim to continue promoting the development of its players while maintaining an identity built on respect, teamwork, and comprehensive education within grassroots football.
