Vila-real to host a historic edition of the Yellow Cup Summer with record participation figures

The Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer returns this summer with a historic edition that will once again turn Vila-real into the meeting point for international grassroots football. From Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th June, thousands of young footballers will come together to enjoy a unique experience centred around sport, friendship and the values that define the Yellow Submarine.

The competition continues to grow year after year and heads into this new edition with the best figures in its history. The tournament has once again surpassed its participation records, confirming the extraordinary interest it generates among clubs, academies and football schools from all over the world. Over four days, participants will have the opportunity to compete in a professional environment and share experiences with players from different cultures and nationalities.

The tournament will bring together 204 teams from 78 clubs around the world, consolidating its international character and continued growth. Delegations from the United States, North Macedonia, Colombia, Romania and Algeria will travel to Vila-real to take part in the Villarreal Yellow Cup, where they will enjoy several days of football, friendship and excitement in a unique atmosphere.

At a national level, the Yellow Cup will also feature strong representation from teams arriving from across Spain. Sides from the Community of Madrid, Catalonia, the Basque Country, Galicia, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Andalusia, the Region of Murcia, Extremadura, Aragon and the Region of Valencia will compete with the ambition of producing a memorable performance and leaving their mark on the prestigious tournament organised by the Yellow Submarine.

Football will once again take over the province of Castellón, with matches being played across nine venues. Fixtures will take place at facilities located in Vila-real, Les Alqueries, Benicàssim, Almassora and Castellón de la Plana, extending the tournament’s reach and helping to promote the growth of the province of Castellón. Specifically, matches will be played at the 'José Manuel Llaneza' Training Ground, 'Pamesa Cerámica' Training Ground, 'CEM Pau Francisco Torres Training Ground', 'Fundación Flors' football ground, 'Torre San Vicente' football ground, 'Intursport' football ground, 'Les Boqueres' football ground, 'Les Alqueries' football ground and 'FACSA' Training Ground.

The competition will begin with a spectacular opening ceremony on the afternoon of Thursday 25th June at the Estadio de la Cerámica, home of the Yellow Submarine. The stadium will open its doors to welcome all participating teams, who will parade one by one across the pitch in an event full of symbolism and emotion. Throughout this edition, around 20,000 supporters, family members and football enthusiasts will visit the facilities, sharing in the passion and excitement of this iconic football tournament.

The stage is set, and all that remains is for the ball to start rolling and begin what promises to be a historic edition of the Villarreal Yellow Cup Summer. During the tournament, 482 matches will be played across 29 pitches, with a total of 51 groups battling to stand out. With dreams driving them forward, numerous teams will aim to lift the coveted ceramic trophy, although only a select few will earn the right to raise it and write their names into the history of this great tournament.
